OUR
PROGRAMME
APPROACH
The programme offers holistic learning experiences to help students become practitioners capable of operating at different levels, specialise in a specific area, and understand the context and processes of design. Throughout the course of study, all specialisations of this programme impart students with various competencies. These competencies are grouped into 2 areas of expertise.

DESIGN AREAS
OF EXPERTISE
Competencies directly related to the task of designing are grouped into these areas of expertise. These areas serve as the pillars of our learning model and are organised in a sequence that reflects a typical design process.
Each area of expertise focuses on a specific area of growth for a designer, as they gradually develop into a complete designer over the course of the programme.
-
Vision and Strategy
To envision future scenarios and craft compelling designs based on a strategic vision.
-
Human Experience
Elevate designs by understanding and enhancing user experiences, making them intuitive, engaging and satisfying for people.
-
Creative Production
The ability to transform concepts into captivating designs by way of prototyping, testing, and production.
-
Emergent Technology
To thoughtfully incorporate emergent technologies in the design process for creating innovative, impactful, and ethical designs.
-
Communication through Media
The ability to convey a message via different media, like visual storytelling, public speaking, social media publishing and writing.
TRANSFORMATION
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Competencies related to important global concerns or career themes are grouped into these areas of expertise. Students are exposed to these areas of expertise throughout the course of study.
These themes reflect the roots of design, the global challenges of our times and the personal journey of a designer over the course of their career. Each student is exposed to these “big issues", and is challenged to develop both a sensitivity and a personal perspective on these themes.
-
Design Culture
Understanding the impact that design has on society, beyond fast design, and embracing a long term perspective.
-
Global challenges and sustainable development
To become conscious about the carbon footprint of the design system during the design process.
-
Indian design context and culture
Upscaling traditional crafts to express the values of Indian heritage at international level.
-
Personal growth and professional development
Embarking on a journey of self-discovery and preparing for life in a commercial setting.
STUDENT
ASSESSMENT
Through the course of the programme, students are assessed on their personal growth and professional development. This involves becoming more aware of, and mastering the process of continuous self improvement, as well as acquiring valuable skills and knowledge that contribute to both personal and professional success. Various parameters are assessed in two ways:
-
Assessment of parameters
through project work:Teamwork and collaboration
Project planning
Self-directed and continuous learning
-
Assessment of parameters
through courses:Problem solving/settling
Critical thinking and informed design
Project management
People and resource management
Presentation skills and portfolio
