Thomas Mical - Professor of Design

Thomas Mical

Professor of Design

Thomas Mical has a background in architectural theory with media philosophy that drives investigations that range across the spectrum of visible and invisible forces forming our lived spatial experiences. His research focuses on the historical, qualitative, speculative, and transformative attributes of interior spaces and landscapes. His research holds a special interest in the philosophical and sensory models of processes used in the production of spaces, and how they further produce meanings and identities. His work has also examined cinema and film theory, media philosophy, landscape multiplicity, and teaching interest in hybrid and non-standard qualitative doctoral design-research methods.
