Deepika Shrivastav

Design Historian

Deepika Srivastava is an Ahmedabad-based design historian whose creative practice lies at the intersection of curation, academia and journalism. She has graduated with distinction from The Royal College of Art, London where she pursued her MA in History of Design in December 2020 and holds a bachelor's degree in Interior Design from CEPT University.

After her MA, she worked with the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad on the government-funded crafts sector (for the USTTAD scheme by the Ministry of Minority Affairs) and on curatorial projects (New Delhi World Book Fair 2024). She is a visiting faculty at leading design institutes of India like NID Ahmedabad, RV University (Bengaluru) and Chandigarh University. She has also spoken at national and international conferences such as Futuring Design Education, IIT-Delhi, Feb 2024; Women in Architecture, London South Bank University (presented online), Jan 2024; What Futures for Design History?, Politecnico di Milano, Nov 2023 etc.

Her academic and journalistic writing has been published in ArchitectureLive!, Handbook of Craft and Sustainability in India, What Design Can Do, and Kyoorius Designyatra. She also serves as an advisor at the Design History Society while holding the position of a Trustee.
