Manisha Lele Phadke

Consultant and Educator

Manisha Phadke is a practitioner of design as a way of life with over 30+ years of experience in Industry and Academia. She has demonstrated expertise in user research and interactive solutions using IoT and VR technology. An alumnus of IDC (IIT Bombay), Manisha is the Founding Director of NMIMS School of Design offering a unique undergraduate programme in 'Humanising Technology'. The school visioned a future-driven approach to curricula, teaching, and evaluation focusing on transformative professional education. The success of this experiment was evidenced in its ranking as the 11th Best Design Institution by Career 360, in the fifth year of its inception. Currently, she spends her time as a Consultant and Advisor on projects in healthcare and innovations using emerging technology whilst continuing to teach courses in Interaction Design and Speculative Design. She passionately speaks and has published on sustainable user experience, the future of design education, and sustainable digital transformation. Manisha is involved in the Indian start-up sector as a mentor and resource person at the Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, Mumbai. She serves as an invited member on national committees such as the CII Design Committee, Electronics and IT Division Council (LITDC) JTC 1/SC 43 ‘Brain-Computer Interface’ (BIS) and as an honorary director of HCI Professionals Association of India (HCIPAI).
